Inside a surreal gay sauna, you find yourself embodied in the body of a young Taiwanese man. You venture into this dreamscape, woven by desires, excitements, and fears, crossing eyes with the other sauna-goers who all have the same faces. As you walk along every floor, corridor, and room, each layer of the maze irreversibly unravels behind your back. Eventually, everything disappears. With Traversing the Mist, CHOU Tung-Yen pushed the boundaries of real-time XR technology and narrative, and expanded the VR360 film In the Mist into this 6DoF multi-user experience Traversing the Mist. This VR experience contains images of nudity. Recommended viewer age 16 and up.

‘Traversing the Mist’ had its world première in IDFA DocLAB 2023 immersive competition, went on to win the Grand Prize in NewImages, and was part of the first Cannes Immersive competition in 2024. It is part of Trilogy of Mist: In the Mist (VR360, 2021), Gazing, in the Mist (Theatre/VR, 2022), and Traversing the Mist (XR roaming multi-user experience, 2023). Directed by Chou Tung-Yen, produced by Very Theatre Taipei, and international representation by SDPM.

RADICAL TOGETHERNESS

Art as care. Presence as resistance.

SUN 12 JUL ’26 – SUN 09 AUG ’26

Radical Togetherness starts with a simple act: being there. It is built through art, ceremony, presence and the courage to be seen, for each other, for our stories, for the world we want to live in. Radical Togetherness is Podium Mozaïek’s multidisciplinary program for Amsterdam Pride and WorldPride 2026, from July 11 to August 9, that brings queer artists and communities from Haiti, Taiwan, and the Pacific into conversation with Amsterdam. This series of programs is rooted in the belief that ‘being there for each other’ is both an act of care and an act of resistance.
