Free UR Head will be presented at the 14th edition of Le Marché des Arts du Spectacle Africain d’Abidjan (MASA) in the Ivory Coast.
Free UR Head is a public participatory choreography project, using custom-developed real-time Immersive (XR) technology. In Free UR Head, physical reality blends with virtual reality in an unprecedented audience experience for up to a hundred participants simultaneously, while at the same time being watched by a 2nd tier audience of viewers. By playing around with individuality and collectivity using virtual reality Free UR Head questions and rethinks the definition of audience, and explores the boundaries of choreography in a mutual
relationship with digital technology.
A collective experience is at the heart of many cultural initiatives. What happens to the work when it directs its audience like a robot, with a purpose that is probably more political than playful? The presentations will take place in the innovation village.
