In the Mist had its world premiere at La Biennale di Venezia / Venice Film Festival 2021. Now part of the Architecture of Intimacy program by Kato van der Speeten (programmer of the future) at EYE Film Museum. Kato is one of the three ‘Future Programmers’ annual training programs at EYE. Her program focuses on spontaneous moments between strangers. Through film, new media, and digital culture, Kato explores how intimate spaces, such as a taxi or a public toilet, enable unexpected connections. These places create a unique atmosphere where people can easily connect.
Chou Tung-Yen: “I think the power of VR lies in its ability to transport us to places we would otherwise never be able to go, such as someone’s dream or memories, to the bottom of the ocean or into space. But even more than that, I think VR should be a mind game that stimulates and challenges your thinking and senses, in a sensual and intuitive experience.”
