Excited to let you know Very Theatre will be back in Amsterdam this November. During the pitch sessions at the Felix Meritis residency in September “Traversing the Mist” was selected in the International Documentary Film-festival Amsterdam (IDFA)
“Traversing the Mist” will have its world premiere in the competition Immersive Non Fiction. The piece will be presented in Arti Amici as part of the new DocLab section, with “phenomenal friction” as its central theme.
CHOU Tung-Yen’s Trilogy of Mist departed from a VR360 short film and explored the layering of Virtual Reality and theater in its second part. Now, in “Traversing the Mist”, you take on and control the virtual body of the protagonist. Step into a sensual dreams-cape, and roam the twilight zone between love and loneliness.
IDFA is the world’s largest documentary film festival and will be held for the 36th time this November. We’re honored to be part of IDFA for the first time and to represent Taiwan and the wider region as the only Asian work in the Immersive Non-Fiction Competition.
